Azuma Bridge was the first metal bridge over the Sumida River. It was opened on December 9, 1887, and connected the pleasure quarter of Asakusa with a brewery on the other side of the river. The actors here are not in roles, they are just depicted as being out to enjoy the cherry blossoms. |
